Chic Pacifier Clip

I'm not much for sewing.  Don't get me wrong, I would love to be amazing at sewing.  Or even know how to work my sewing machine.  I do have one.  At my request my husband bought me one several Christmas' ago.  I was going to sew curtains, pillows, baby blankets & adorable baby clothes.  It was going to be awesome!  So a beautiful sewing machine was under the Christmas tree.  To date, it has been used once.  Mostly by my mother in law helping me to hem a pair of my son's pants.  But someday I will learn!

Where was I going with this?  Oh, right, not a sewing person.  But I wanted to make a cute pacifier clip for my baby girl.  I bought a strand of beads from Walmart.  They came exactly how they appear in the picture.  I trimmed the length down a little bit.  Then I looped it around the circle of the pacifier to measure how big the loop would need to be.  Then I tied the strand of beads into a loop that would fit.  Next I hot glued an alligator clip to the other end of the strand of beads.  On the alligator clip I hot glued a fabric flower I bought at Hobby Lobby.  Simple, easy & less than $3!  I love how it turned out.  Here's a picture of it on my baby girl.  She's so squishy!  (That's just how I make my babies.)

Year Round Wreath

So I've jumped on the 'ol band wagon.  I've pinned, I don't even know how many, wreaths on Pinterest.  I suppose for inspiration?  There are some amazing ones out there!  Finally I made my first wreath just before the holidays.  I wasn't looking for something that would take too much time, & I wanted to be able to keep it up for a while, since I made it just before Christmas.  I didn't want to have to take it down with all my other holiday decor.  I love how it turned out, & feel like it's something I could have up any time of the year!  Better yet, it didn't cost very much to make.  I had an old wreath on hand that was made of the twig variety, not sure if these have a real name :0)  But the colors didn't go with my style anymore.  I cut off all the old flowers & pine cones (wishing I had taken a before pic) and added some hydrangeas & floral picks I bought on sale at JoAnn Fabric & Craft Store.  All I did was trim down the stems with some wire cutters & stuck them in wherever looked good to me!  I'm not a big fan of wreath hangers, so I bought a Command Hook from Walmart, like this one & stuck it to my door window.  So far it has held up great!  I was a little concerned about the weather, it has been known to snow in North Idaho, freezing temps, all that good stuff.  But a month later, lots of slammed doors, rain, snow, negative temperatures, & it's still holding strong!

And here it is!  I really do love it.

Have you tried any of those amazing wreaths out there yet?

52 Week Money Challenge

It's a new year, & with that resolutions!  One of mine is to work on my savings.  I found a 52 week money challenge on Pinterest, but the link didn't lead anywhere & when I tried to print the image, it was blurry.  I decided to print up my own & put it out there for anyone else wanting to try this but also having issues getting it printed.  Here's to getting a start on one New Year's Resolution!
